    Savage rifle

Looking at the savage 22 l.r with heavy barrel
Looking for good and bad comments.

Just for shooting from the bench out to 50 yards

    I shoot a 455 Cz now,

What's wrong with your 455? In that tier, the 455 and now 457 are pretty much tops that price segment.

I've been very happy with my Mark II-BTV. It will shoot 1 MOA or better if I do my part. Had to spend the time to find which type of ammo it liked though.

Only gripe I have about it is the magazine. It's cheap stamped sheet metal and to remove it from the rifle you have to pull back on a small latch. Not a big deal but compared to other magazine releases I think Savage could definitely spend some time improving the design.

If you decide to get one, do yourself a favor and spend a little bit coin on a nice rimfire scope because it makes a difference.

You really can't go wrong with a Savage. They're great rifles!

I have a Savage B22 with the 21 inch heavy barrel. . It's super accurate with standard ammo (cci standard, aguila blue), pretty decent trigger out of the box. Rotary magazine is ok, but not great.

The con for the B22 the stock is pretty flimsy and there's not much aftermarket support for it. Supposedly Boyds makes a stock, but looks like there's been some fitment issues. There is a chassis made by by MDT. I think you can buy the rifle with said chassis from Savage now. If I was gonna do it again (and it was available when I bought it, which it wasn't) that's the way I would go.

Fit and finish on the Savage is not as good as the CZ’s but the a accuracy is usually comparable. I would go with the CZ.

I've got the cheapest Savage MkII there is. It's ugly and feels cheap and is mostly plastic, but it sure does shoot well, and was only 200 bucks. If you already have the CZ though, I would stick with it and buy something else than the Savage.
