It was a windy day, and he was still making center mass hits.

I almost **** myself when i saw the AI stock, thinking it was for the 10/22

My Remingtom Model 37 will do nickel-sized groups at 100 yards (with CMP Olin ammo).


But only with a scope.

None of my other .22s can do that well.

If you shoot subsonic ammo, you will probably get a better result than high velocity rounds.

I have had really good success with CCI Velocitors out to 100 plus, really good hard hitter. 1435 FPS muzzle, 40 grain. Mini-mags have not let me down either.

Thats a little too broad of a question. Drop? 4-6" at 100yards. Accuracy? Crappy, there will be too many uncontrollable factors effecting accuracy besides you and your technique.

22lr should be kept to 50yards with a scope and 25 open sight if your shooting for accuracy.

Like 50BMGBOB said, smallbore silloutte matches go out to 100 meters and they are shot offhand! I used to shoot my $75 Mossberg M42A in silloutte matches and my rifle could shoot as well as the Anshultzes I was shooting against. I just couldn't shoot as well as my rifle could.

A 6" drop at 100 yards is nothing. It's all about consistantcy. I now shoot 50BMGs at 1000 yards and there is about a 28 foot bullet drop at that distance! Yet, I have still shot several < .5 moa, 5 shot groups.

actually it depends. If you have a modified 22LR (match grade) then its true, but for stock 22LR rifles, the higher the velocity the better (depends on some guns though) I know because I did a test on my Cricket 22LR, 10/22, browning 22LR Rifle, BuckMark and my MKIII 22/45, they all worked great with hyper velocity, but my decked out 10/22 custome everything shot best with 22LR subsonic, and its true with the 10/22 club too.
