Ruger Wrangler Review

Because the flyer doesn't say it's on sale. Anything on sale in that flyer has a red and yellow star that tells you how much you're saving during the sale. So I assumed $189.98 will be their regular price."Show me a young conservative and I'll show you a man without a heart. lol, I think they don't want to say in the big yellow star "save $10.00" or "Save 5%" ...It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

Looking online, a localish place has the black and silver in stock for 199. In looking, I noticed the sights are...less than desirable. I may still grab one, but that kept me from impulse buying. I'll read more reviews and keep looking at photos.Comment

I was in Turners this afternoon. Sure enough, $189 is their regular price. They also confirmed anything without a red/yellow star in their ad is their regular price.
You'll also notice they have a red/yellow star that says $50 off an $1,800 gun, so that's far less than 5%.Last edited by k1dude; 06-11-2019, 12:54 PM."Show me a young conservative and I'll show you a man without a heart. Great review!
Looks like a fun little shooter. Admittedly I'm not a big fan of the matte finishes, as they look like something a rattle-can tagger put on it, but the overall quality of the Ruger seems a step up from the other very low priced options in this segment of the market."Two dead?!? HOW?!?"

Nice review!
I've seen reports that the CCI Stingers have a casing that is a tad longer than the normal .22 LR.
I'm on the wait list for one with my local shop. $171.95 OTD. No tax and no DROS here
I wish Ruger would crank them out faster!
Looking to acquire a Marlin 336 Texan. Hit me up if you are contemplating getting rid of one.Comment

Thank you for the review. I have been wanting to buy a single-six for a while now. My wife says she wants to go shooting with me but wants the single-six she shot with her Dad as a kid.
I of course want to buy her a semi-auto HD handgun in .380 or 9mm. Maybe this is a good "gateway gun"... and I have never not enjoyed shooting a single six. So, maybe this is a good low(er) cost starter/compromise.
However...I have shot the same 1970's era single-six my wife shot as a kid, and something in me wants the real-deal. Is that weird...?I don't know how political I am, I don't get into all that crap....I just love freedom...

I am a Ruger fan. I own a .44 Magnum carbine, four 10-22s, and in the past I have owned three Single Six revolvers, all of them were very accurate.
The Wrangler, just does not prompt me to go buy one. I don't like the matte, cast frame appearance. I could be wrong, and the Wrangler may end up being a hit with the shooting community, and it may become the 10-22 of .22LR revolvers.
Reading the reviews, did prompt me to want another Single Six, so I went on gunbroker.com and bought a used Single Six made in the 70's, in excellent condition, and it had a 6 1/2" barrel with adjustable sights, and I only paid $239.00, which is only $40 more than what the Wrangler cost.sigpicComment

I often think about buying a SA ‘cowboy’ handgun and a low cost quality 22 from Ruger would be a great place to start.
What stops me from doing it is the work involved just to shoot it. I’m too use to my 617 (10 shots) and LCRx (8 shots) and all you have to do to reload is swing the cylinder open, dump the rounds and load with fresh ammo.
After the initial fun of a new gun I think I’d tire of it and rarely ever shoot it.Im a warmonger baby, I got blood in my eyes and I'm looking at you.Comment

Well if you just waited long enough, you could've scored a used Wrangler for $100I am a Ruger fan. I own a .44 Magnum carbine, four 10-22s, and in the past I have owned three Single Six revolvers, all of them were very accurate.
