    Ruger mkii 10"barrel chrono

I recently acquired a Ruger mkii with a 10" barrel. Its more accurate than I am...

Has anyone chrono'd one of these? I am curious as to what the barrel length does to the velocity
    Thanks

Is that bull barrel or standard profile? I have the MKII Gov Target (MK678G) 6.78" bull barrel IIRC - front heavy but fun. How's the balance on the 10.

I always wanted to get a 5" barrel MK too, rather than longer.

You’ll need a bipod for extended range days especially if it’s a bull, supported on a bench I bet you can shoot the wings off a fly with that thing. But you’ll get a work out freehand, I’m sure it’s a little faster but probably not as much as you’d think. Post a pick if you can, my buddy has a 7”? bull and after five or so mags he’s feeling it.

The Buckmark 7.25" that I shot is a light AL barrel surround, so it feels really balanced and pretty light... but it doesn't shoot like my MKII. It just didn't seem as accurate and the trigger was not great, but probably needs to break-in. As far as weight and balance, those light profile bulls are sweet.

If the 10" is front heavy and bugs you, you can try target grips like VQ Volthanes. I used to love mine and they wore out so I replaced with regular Hogues IIRC. Those work too... I wanted a change and they had them in OD.

I would post a pic if I knew how to. Is there a simple way to do it. Also I have 10 acres near Paso Robles where I can shoot off of my porch and support the barrel on a bean bag on the porch rail.
          Much fun

IMGUR works really good - you copy the "BBCode" link and paste it into a message here. Also recommend clicking "Large Thumbnail" before copying the BBCode.

So the Buckmark 7.25" is not as good as the Mark series variants?
I was looking to get one from Rifle Gear.

I dunno. I have shot one. I thought the best thing about it was the weight and balance... but the trigger and accuracy weren't as good for me as an MKII Target... but that gun has VQ trigger parts and a RDS.

I'll reevaluate the 7.25 when I get a chance to shoot it with the TRS-25 that used to be on my MKII.

I definitely preferred my MKII. Is there a really good reason people replace the Buckmark tops with TACSOL?

So how about replacing the Buckmark's UDX with a 7.25 lite barrel?
I sold my Contour not long ago when I was trying to raise money to buy a car.
It was very accurate and felt solid but also 36 ounces. Now i am being very careful with my next purchase(maybe a stainless UDX).Browning has a $25 rebate offer nowadays(WOW!)I also like the all steel construction of the Ruger except 22/45's.

Damn. Jealous. If I spit off my porch, I run the risk of hitting my neighbor.
