    Marlin 925M Misfires??? Problems???

I recently acquired this rifle. Taken it to the range twice. Both times the gun shoots fine for 5 or 6 shots. Then it starts to misfire. Indent on the primer shows striker marks. But somehow not enough force to set off round. Any suggestions?

The rifle is in new condition. Never fired by previous owner.

I seem to recall an issue with the striker assembly, and Marlin was replacing them? Can't find a thing on a recall though. Some disassembled the bolt and found burrs that made it hang up, others did that and found firing protrusion was too short.
Others with lots of use had headspace problems. The bolt handle stub locks on the receiver. Lack of lube would wear the contact edge of the receiver.
I would take the bolt apart and check for any interference with the striker assembly. Polish out any you find, check firing pin protrusion, then chamber a fired case and see if you have any back and forth movement in the bolt.

Flush the bolt out with spray gun cleaner and try again. I like One Shot cleaner/lube because it flushes it and leaves a dry lube film behind. Chances are good the assembly lube is all dried or gummed up causing slow striker or firing pin movement.
