    Ruger 10/22 Bolt Chipped

    Hello Calgunners,

I was cleaning my Ruger 10/22 when I noticed a piece had chipped off of my bolt near the extractor. I was wondering if this would still be safe to shoot? Sorry if the images are small, first time uploading to Calguns.

    Thanks

Did you try cycling it and does it extract? I can't see the pictures very well, but if it extracts it should be fine.

Safe? Yes. If it doesn't effect function, i would not worry. Perhaps call Ruger if your concerned, I bet they would replace it. Or buy one from brownells, they are less then $40.

Or take a look at the Kidd bolt

And get the Guide rod and spring kit while you are there. All very nice bits for a 10/22!
