The thing is cute as a button and is a gadget geek's rifle with the fancy in stock mag carrier, two cheek piece inserts, transformer style take down, and four mags.

I noticed that Ruger made the mag release bigger. I wasn't allowed to dry fire it but I'm pretty sure I'll need to get a Clark trigger group or something similar for it (BX?). No glass.

I will have to read up on the legality of stowing it in my vehicle but it seems like a perfect rifle for that. Rifle in a bag, ready mags, and a brick of 22s.

Mounting a Simmons scope this week. It's a great shooter.

Add techsights or nodak spud sights, both have same sight picture as standard A2 AR15 sights. This keeps the gun light and compact.

Get a couple the bx25 magazines, and you will have an excellent shtf rifle.

Update: Took the new Magpul 10/22 for a spin

I took the rifle out to Dave's Magnum indoor range today. It's roughly sighted in for 15 yards and my new BX25 mags and the 4 OEM rotaries that came with the rifle ran without a hiccup. I noticed that the solid color rotary mags have sharper edges than my old clear one though.

The Williams sights are pretty basic but it is a takedown rifle for a trunk monkey after all so maybe I'll leave it be as they're as mishap proof as they can be. The green front sight was difficult to see indoors while the orange rear stood out like fire although I had no problem keeping all 25 shots of my SCM mag in the black of a 3 inch bull at 15 yards.

The new (to me) style mag release, allowed for dropping the mag unlike the old recessed button style which I pressed and pinched the mag out so the extended mag lever mod isn't a must have anymore.

How did I miss this post? A chance to show off my kit AND my opinion?! With that prepare for a longish response.



First, I love this setup, this one bag holds: my 10/22 TD (OD green) 3 BX-25s, 1 Promag 30, 4 tandemkross couplers (one in the stock) and 1 clear rotary mag in the stock. It also holds my Advantage Arms 22 Glock and 4 mags. Also 200 rounds of Mini Mag and 100 rounds of Aguila.




The bag is perfect, I generally hold 500 rounds of 22lr, there is room for more but it can get heavy. I also have oil, cleaning kit, bore snake, pens, note pad, bore laser, gloves targets and foam ears. It WILL hold probably another 6 BX25 mags but I only have 3 more coming from freedom week.

It's basically a flat case. I wanted something very minimal. I keep three loaded magazines in the stock.
