    Resetting Targets

So I have my Spikes .22lr Build, two .22lr rifles (10/22 & Savage), and lastly my Walther P22 pistol.

I currently have this resetting target and I am happy with it.
    LINK HERE

The problem with this target is that it sits so low and without a hill it sucks. So I am looking into getting something taller that I can use for both pistol and rifle. Paper just gets old and boring after a while.

    My current options:

Caldwell .22lr Resetting Target GREAT PRICE

High Point Dueling Post (High Price)

If you guys have any other recommendations please let me know! Also if anyone could refer me to a highly visible paint from Walmart to re-mark these targets.

    Thanks in advance!

What if you make a stand with vertical 2 by 4 legs a couple of feet high. Drill a couple of holes in the end of the 2 by 4s then stick the legs of your swinger in the holes. Mark

That isnt a bad idea. Sounds like it may work, but i dont know how sturdy they would be.

You could build a PVC stand like this one: http://www.theboxotruth.com/docs/edu24.htm

You could construct it in such a manner that it would hold your current repeating target and could also be used for paper targets. In other words, you could use smaller diameter PVC more suitable to the size of your target stakes if you never shoot paper, or build a full size one and drill holes in the wood uprights to hold your repeating target. I built one of these myself and, of course, didn't use any PVC cement so it breaks down easily to fit in a small box. Works like a charm.

I just got the 2nd one, the resetting type. It sits pretty low to the ground and I havent tried it yet but looks like fun.

is it meant to plant into the ground? Once planted how many inches above the ground would you say the targets are?

Thanks for the reply. It may not be high for what it is, but it is still high when compared to the others. I think I may grab it though cus it looks like a world of .22 fun!

I built this one for about $20. Works great. Don't have to mess with resetting.

It just sits on the ground, and if I remember correctly its probably 5 inches from the ground or higher, I have it folded up and put away right now. Its nice because it folds up flat and probably 20x20 inches square. I suppose you could extend the legs and make it higher with pipe sections. I also sell this online too.

I also lowered alot of the shooting steel target prices so check them out, theres even one for up to .44 cal.

Have you personally used this shooting target? Will this be good for both longer distance rifle shooting and shorter distance (10yard) pistol shooting? (.22lr of course). Do you sell the smaller Caldwell one as well?

I only own the smaller caldwell type and I do sell it, just got it last week and will shoot it tomorrow hopefully. The only steel targets I have shot at are the ones I make myself. Im sure any of them can be shot from any distance, its just being able to see them. I personally wouldnt shoot closer then 25 yards just because im concerned with ricochets coming towards me, but im no expert on them either.
