Biathlon rifles

Does anyone here use a Biathlon rifle (toggle bolt style)?

I saw one at the range recently, looked very nice. I know here are some cheaper sporter versions of them arounds, I have never seen one for sale locally (San Jose) though.

Anyone know who stocks them, and have any experience with them?

I hadn't before this heard of the toggle-type bolt action that is used on biathlon rifles. If it's so fast and great why isn't it more widely used? The Baikal/Izhmash biathlon rifle goes for about $1400, Anschutz more.

Superfly uses Russian biathlon toggle bolt at the tactical 22lr matches at APTS. Very slick operation, very fast.

9 pounds! that is heavier than I would have expected for a sporting gun that must be carried while being extremely active. X-country skiing is not easy to begin with as far as skills go, and add that it is one of the more cardio taxing sports. seems they would be using polymers or carbon fiber wherever possible.

The weight would help dampen any oscillations caused by the skiier/shooter's breathing and rapid heart rate. A lighter weight rifle would be more susceptible to those oscillations and while the rifle may be as accurate as the heavier rifle, in practice, it would be more difficult to shoot accurately from the standing position after exercise...

I shot a Bullseye match with my CZ452 varmint on Saturday, and am jones'in pretty hard for a CM2 target rifle. Thought about a Kimber 82G, but too many hoops to jump through to get one. The Biathlon would be nice too, but at twice the price of the CM-2, and with many features I don't need, still looking.
