PSA 16" Upper - Does it matter what velocity .22lr ammo I use?

I feel like this is a really dumb question to ask but I can't seem to find the answer on here or google search. Maybe I am dumb But does it matter what velocity .22lr ammo (standard, high) I use on my 22lr AR build?

I have a few of those, I’ve tried all kinds and they seem to eat up everything. Although it doesn’t seem to cycle the quiet low velocity ammo, ie under 700 FPS.

Not dumb at all, just need to try different brands to see what works.

I have some older Marlins that are finicky and need higher FPS rounds to cycle properly so that is what I tend to purchase so I can use them in multiple rifles across the different rifles I own.

My PSA upper also seems to eat any of the following with the ones noted as *** being what I normally shoot:

Blazer 40 gr round nose -1,235 FPS. ***
CCI Mini Mags 36 gr HP - 1,260 FPS. ***
CCI Mini Mag High Velocity 40 gr copper plated round nose - 1,235 FPS ***
Federal Champion 40 gr round nose- 1,240 FPS
American Eagle 40 gr round nose - 1,260 FPS
Federal Automatch Target Grade 40 gr round nose - 1,200 FPS ***
Winchester Super X 40 gr round nose - 1,300 FPS

I have only tried a few 1050 FPS without issue and nothing lower or subsonic yet.

Both the PSA dedicated upper and the S&W M&P 15-22 AR platforms seem to be pretty forgiving tolerance wise.

My only problem with the dedicated PSA upper is that it is too fun to shoot and I often leave the range with a goofy grin on my face as a result.

To answer to your question: I don't know! Just kidding, I shoot more than dozen of my .22LR guns with mostly HV, the only one pistol I shoot with SV is the S&W Model 41.
