Big guys shooting .22's

Im 6'4" and I have this rifle Savage Mark II-F:


And this scope:


1) Should I get small, medium or large rings
2) Should I get extended rings?

edit: PS- the rings that came with the scope are dovetail, and the Savage comes with Weaver

I'd try a low set of weaver type rings. They'll have enough clearance for a 32 mm objective.

Get a set of Ext Rings or you'll crawl all over that scope getting a propper check weld. I have a Sav MkII and even though I'm only 5'8" I have a long neck and crawl a stock - that said I ended up adding about 1" of homemade spacer and got ext rings so that I could maintain a propper eye relief and check weld.

i figured I would give my height to show that I am a big fella with a big neck and big head, and sometimes it can be hard to get your head behind a scope with a low clearance.

There was an air rifle that was scoped at my local gun shop and it had high set of rings on it, and it seemed to be pretty comfortable

No I have a BTVS which has the lam. stock so I added 1" to the LOP. I have a bitt pack which raises my head just enough to maintain center on the scope. As to ring height you want the scope as low as it can go without rubbing your barrel and still allowing finction of the rifle.

Both of the scopes I use on that rifle have 50MM bells fo I use ext high rings. On yours I'd either go medium or high.
