    Browning SA-22

    Hello, Calguns community! I have a question about a rifle I just jailed. The gun had some slight wear but overall is in great condition. I paid $350 OTD for it.
    The rifle is a Belgium made Browning SA-22. I’m curious to find out which year my rifle was manufactured. Can anyone help me with this? The serial number for this rifle is as follows:
    1T9xxx

    I believe this means it’s an early serialed model but I’m not sure of the exact year. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

    My biggest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them.

        Browning has serial number info on their excellent website:

        Learn here how to find the date your Browning firearm was manufactured by using the serial number found on your gun. This page will help you read the serial number.

          1956-1967
          In 1961, the codes for calibers were changed:
          T=Long Rifle Caliber
          E=Short Rifle Caliber

          Example: 8T1000 = A 1968 22 Long Rifle Caliber Semi-Auto Rifle with serial number 1000.

          T=Long Rifle Caliber
          E=Short Rifle Caliber

            The price seems reasonable if the gun is in good shape.

            Keep in mind, the early Miroku rifles showed much higher quality in many respects than the later guns made in Belgium during the last 3 to 7 years of manufacturing there.
