    Marlin 60's

So I've posted this one before, a 26 year old Marlin 60 that belonged to my grandfather. It became mine when he passed and I totally revamped it. Changed out the original wood stock for the synthetic ATI Dragunov style. Later I sanded down the stock and painted it a solid OD color. Not satisfied there I tried my hand at a custom "camo" paint scheme. No internal mods were done..

I just purchased another Marlin 60 at a great price from a fellow Calgunner so while it sits in 10 day jail I am planning a complete revamp of that one as well.

    Lets see yours...

if i were you i would think about keeping it the way it is. i've seen my friend's moms old 60 and that thing looks great as it is. if i were you i would keep that old one the way it is, shoot it, enjoy it and all but leave it the way you got it. i say maybe give that stock to your new one.

besides that looks great, good job on the paint

Do you still have the old stock? Want to sell it?

funky marlin. had one when I first got into shooting, shot so many rounds thru it the feed ramp cracked! it was not unusual for me too fire off 1 thousand rds on a weekend. must of been itchy finger syndrome. back then you could buy a brick of 500 for $5.00.

I didnt want to do anything more than cosmetic to my grandfathers rifle. I do still have the original wood stock tucked away, but I won't be selling it. Thanks for the comments guys, but lets see some more!

Here's my 1974 Marlin 60 ($55 from a pawn shop) with new laminated stock and scope. I've since had the bolt jeweled.

The stock was bought directly from Marlin ($70 if I remember correctly) and is the stock that is sold with the Marlin 60SS : http://www.marlinfirearms.com/Firear...ading/60SS.asp

The scope is a Simmons 3-9x40.

Nice looking guns. Got a 70SS Papoose which is the same action in a take-down format. Just a nice basic .22. A brick of .22s, a bag of cans, a safe place to shoot and time on the weekend. What more can you say?

                            My Second Marlin 60

So I picked up a second Marlin 60 from a fellow Calgunner. It basically came in a ziploc bag of parts, It was a project that never got off the ground for him.

Well its not even out of 10 day jail yet but what was a bag of parts and a basic synthetic stock has been my newest project...

I got it as this(I couldnt wait and taped up the stock as soon as I got home):

After some sanding and some Marine Tex I had this:

After letting it setup for a day or so I hit it with a second layer of Marine Tex, waited about 20 minutes and hit it with the ziploc to produce this:

Wait another day or so to fully cure and then its time for paint!
