Here's one I had. Accurate but had too many .22s! Bought second hand in '82. Owner before me setup a very light trigger. Again, pretty accurate. Barrel was long and thick, heavy gun, very steady.

Here's my 1950's 39A. It came with a lousy optic, which I switched with a better period-correct one I got from Rich's Arms for around $30

Top: '92 Marlin .32 Long & Short Colt, rimfire and centerfire firing pins.
It was also made in .22 caliber, preceding the Models 1897 and 39; the Model 39 made minor improvements and changes.

Bottom: Early S prefix serial number Model 39 from the 1920s, with old style breechbolt suitable for standard velocity only. These were used before the HS prefix (High Speed).







I do have a modern 39A breechbolt that I can use when shooting high velocity ammo. It took about an hour to fit it to my receiver.
