I have that exact scope. I paid $25 for it at walmart, $7 for rings, and no shipping

Cheaper Than Dirt! is America's Ultimate Shooting Sports Discounter, and we live up to that title. Expect bulk ammo deals, discounts, gun care accessories and more

I did have to drill a small groove into the rail adapter 'thingy' because I was having a hard time getting the pin in. No big deal. For the price I was surprised when this thing turned out to be pretty good and not a POS!

To make it worth the shipping, add some extra magazines until just before the shipping increases!

The plastic trigger guard bugs me, anyone seen one that is not over $30?
how are those mags,do they work pretty well? Thats a great price for them.

So I caved in and bought the cheapo .22 scope and rings at wally world for my gun and it looks really good with the ATI fiberforce stock. My only question is where did you guys buy your bi-pod???

I am actually going to Cabela's tomorrow to pick this baby up. Did a google search on the 795 and found this great forum for information on it.

This will actually be my first rifle purchase, as I've only ever owned my current shotgun (Remington Wingmaster TC Trap). Consequently enough, I'm making the rounds tomorrow and picking up both this 795 and buying a Ruger SR9 handgun at a local gun shop too (I turn 21 in just a few weeks here, so I figure that's the logical thing to buy once you're finally of age)

I'm really liking the bi-pod look on a lot of your guns. Can I get a consensus of where to buy this tripod and which model? I'm finding them for around $45 shipped online like here: http://www.amazon.com/Shooters-Ridge.../dp/B0002INWLY.

Is that the cheapest I'll find one? Also, is there anything in particular I need to know about the bipod? Will all models pretty much fit the 795?

Not right now, maybe this weekend. I don't really care how it holds up as it is a .22, looks decent, and gets shot a lot.

I might get a wood stock, strip it, and tru oil it, and throw some tech sights on it, if I can sell a scope. Anybody want a bushnell 6-18x50mm? Look at my for sale thread! It actually isn't too big of a scope for the 795 either!

As for the 795...I found a filler for the front sight!

I took off my front sight, and used a filler screw from my Ruger 22/45 pistol (weaver mount filler screw) and it threaded perfectly!

Now I have an ultimate tacticool flat khaki rimfire sniper rifle!
Thanks, I will try the locktite! Did you paint the stock? Any pics posted of it? I was thinking about using the 795 for a test paint to see how it turns out before trying it on another rifle.

Great advice on using the CCI Mini Mags for break-in. They also seemed a bit more accurate at distance then the cheaper bulk ammo. Scope was sighted in on the 5th shot (after a bad adjustment on #3). After that is was dead on.

After sighting in at 25 yards I set a target at 50 yards. The gun was more accurate then my aim was. Didn't get a chance to try 100 yards since I was working on no sleep and vision was getting blurry. Will try it this weekend.

Rifle loved the CCI, Federal bulk, and Winchester (small box). Had 1 FTL and 1 FTE with the Winchester bulk when I mixed in a magazine of it at about 50+ rounds and again at 100+.

Around 200 it seemed to eat it all up, but the Winchester bulk seemed less accurate then the other ammo.

Oh, and only had very slight traveling of the scope mounts. They are cheap rings so I will probably get something with a bit better hold. Any recommendations?

Funny you mention that. I have been soaking up all the Mosin info available here lately. I plan to buy a Mosin or Mauser once I feel I have reached the level of 'educated consumer'.

My level of excitement with the AR just seems to have dropped off. I do however have a new found love for the M1A and find myself drawn to buying an FR-8!

    Would you ship?

Probably cost more to ship and transfer than it would to just purchase outright!
