Haha. Yea, I know. But I just don't want to pay $30+ for something I know I can get for $15 under "normal" conditions. I'd rather pay $21 for something that normally costs $21 than $20 for something that normally costs $15 .

Stupid I know, but at least I don't "feel" like I'm getting gouged . Sad thing, I don't even consider anything under $25 for Federal bulks gouging but I'd still rather do the $21/brick of something I've never shot just because that's what I'd normally pay for it.

Case (5,000 rounds) of Centurion .22lr (by Aguila) for $210 shipped. I've never shot it, but the few reviews I managed to find pretty much all agreed that it's solid stuff so I thought I'd take the plunge and give it a try.

There are other places that have some in stock, but I don't really want to spend $10 shipping on a $30 brick.

My discussion with a Wal Mart employee also reinforece this statement. Sometimes when they restock it seems that there is only 5-10 boxes of the more desireable items received and put out for sale.

Is Rimfire harder to get than 45 acp or 40 cal (Be honest)

Harder than .40 in my area. I am referring to non gouge rate .22lr bulk pack ammo.

Yea. I decided to stop going to my 2 local WalMarts at 11:00pm in "hopes" that they'll have some. I've yet to see it and the guy there last night that brought out the 9mm and 40 for us who apparently also stocks the shelves said he's seen about 40 boxes (boxes, not cases) of 22lr in the last 5 months. Just ordered a case online instead...

Seems like 22lr is much more difficult to get down in socal. I don't have any problems finding .22 ammo up north.

San Bernadino has been a goldmine for .22LR lately. The Walmart there and the Big5's have both been getting in bulk packs lately. I've purchased 3-4k .22 rounds, when I've been actively looking for 9mm and .40 ammo. Which Big5 had plenty of both today when they opened at 10am.

I disagree. I can't find 22lr anywhere while the range I go to has I think about 40 CASES of 40s&w last I checked (at about $25 a pop).

I agree with you---22LR is extremely difficult---I finally found/bought(out of state) some
stuff of the type/brand I wanted and the price delivered to my door is just a tad
more then Walmart/Big 5 are charging WHEN they have the stuff. Pete

No. I dont think so. I know a few place I could get 22lr, mag, or 17 right now but I cant find a bit of 40 right now locally.

I have seen Golden Bullets in stock in the last few times I have been to Big5 in the Oxnard/Ventura/Santa Barbara area. I have actually seen them in stock for several days at a time. I think the shortage is just starting to ease up a bit.

Got a Rem 525 pack from Big 5 that had been on sale and I got a rain check. Only 1 box, so I also paid too much for CCI Blazer 500 pack at River City, but I am tired of running to every Wal Mart only to find empty shelves. My time and gas is worth something. I now have enough for a little bit, and have 2500 rounds on backorder from Cabrelas.
