    ruger 10/22 trigger groups

im not that happy with the way the stock trigger feels. what would you guys recommend to lighten the pull and just make it smother. I don't really want to spend 200+ on an entire new assembly.

I was thinking of replacing the stock plastic trigger assembly with a metal one. Anyone have any reviews on this one.

Check out the volquartzen kit, I got mine on sale from midway a few months ago and it works like a champ. Pull is very clean and crisp and comes in right around 3.75 pounds.

Get the volquartson hammer. It will lower you trigger pull to around 2.5to 3 lbs.

The drop-in VQ hammer is a great way to improve the trigger for little money.

Clark is selling the older factory aluminum trigger groups. I'm tempted to buy a half dozen of them to keep on hand for the future.

I have a Volquartsen TG-2000 installed in mine, it works good.

+1 on the Kidd trigger. It's a easy drop in unit and the performance is amazing.

This has hands down the nicest trigger outside of an FWB air gun that I've ever personally handled. It is absolutely phenomenal.

You can improve the trigger greatly (I am told) by doing something called "stoning the hammer." Join rimfirecentral.com and search for the term there and you will find detailed instructions. People have great things to say about it and the price can't be beat.

I just did 2 trigger jobs this week... Just getting rid of the crazy amount of creep in the stock trigger group makes it feel far better.

The older style takes a little longer and the new one takes alot less time but makes it feel good.

Now I have to start working on the same ones to lighten it from the crazy high pull down to about 1/4 of that...
