    Latest addition: Remington 552

Here in my new locale, Private FTF transfers are legal so I met a guy today to pick up a nearly new Remington 552.

I've coveted one of these for a long time being left handed, the Speedmaster seems to be made for us leftys.

Cost me $400 and a half hour drive. Previous owner handed over the shipping carton and owners manual. He said he put 50 rounds through it and then stored it away because it was too nice to shoot. I can't see any exterior wear at all and the glossy finish wood is perfect.

BTW that isn't an outhouse in the background, it is the ammo bunker.

Can't wait to shoot it next week!

Oh, this is the one with the built-in case deflector for lefties? And also is the only semiauto I know of that can shoot 22 short, long, and long rifle. Nice pickup!

retail on these is $700 plus
I just picked up a older one (1958) paid a little less than yours ($150) its still in nice shootable condition just don't see that many for sale
it looks to me like somebody got the idea to modify a slide action into a selfloader
the guts look similar to the 572

Reading the manual that came with my rifle, the two are similar enough that both are covered in the same instruction book.

Well the Stevens model 87A is a .22 semi-auto rifle with a tubular under barrel magazine that will shoot .22 short, .22 Long, and .22 LR cartridges.

Plus you can push in the bolt charging handle to have it fire in single shot mode without ejecting the spent cartridge until manually cycled.

I found the ported left hand side of the receiver to be interesting...

I have had mine for many years, and I think I paid $30 dollars for it decades ago.

That is a deal for a 552. Looks in very good condition.

I did not know that. That sounds like a very cool rifle
