Modifying PWS Raptor Laminate stock

Finally got all my parts together for my 10/22 build. Scored a left handed X-ring receiver and won a Tac Sol barrel and a Volquartsen trigger pack.

The barrel is an sbx so I can run it suppressed with very little additional length.

My question is about modifying the stock. When we grind the barrel channel or shorten the forearm, how will that impact the color?

It won't impact the color. The pattern may be different looking depending on the angle it's cut on.

Thanks. The designer of the stock is local and i had a chance to see one that he was modifying.

That’s a great stock. Love the forend for benchresting. How were you going to modify it?

I need to notch out the left side where the receiver goes as I have a left charging tacsol xring. I also was going to shorten the forend to make room for a tacsol sbx barrel. Decided to go with a barrel that matches the receiver and I'll put an sbx on a takedown in the future. My current sbx will go on a different 10/22 I think. Or I'll sell it.
