Scope recommendations for Ruger 10/22

Hey all -
Im in the market for a scope for a 10/22 ruger american bolt action rifle. Nothing to fancy, just practical as this will be mounted on my 13 year old sons rifle for rabbit, squirrels, etc.

10/22 is not a bolt gun ..it's semiauto.

Simmons makes an good, inexpensive rimfire scope; check Big 5 or Wal Mart...

Leupold VX-Freedom Rimfire 2-7x33 or 3-9x40, they usually go for under $200.

I have one of these on my Marlin 795 and have nothing but praise for it. I got it for less than $100 and it is by far one of the best scopes I have.

I have two of these (UTG 3-9X32 1" BugBuster Scope, AO, RGB Mil-dot, QD Rings) - one on my Ruger 10/22 Takedown and the other on my 9mm Ruger PC Carbine (also a takedown) - they come with medium heighth QD rings. Inexpensive, reliable, repeatable.
