Savage rifles

Thinking about picking up a savage bolt action
I like the idea of the adjustable trigger,

I have cz's, but just want some other make and model.

Which model should I be looking at??

For shooting at paper 25 to 50 yards,
Thinking about the heavy barrel,

Any comments will help me out

What is your goal? Accuracy? Rimfire? Centerfire? High volume shooting? Scoped? Irons?

At that short of a range, I think many rifles, even with sporter profile barrels, will please you in regards to accuracy, unless you're really trying to perform paper surgery.

Depending on what you're really looking for, in regards to features and use, there are likely many models that will work well for you.

Savage Mk2 fvsr will do almost anything the expensive brands will and for a whole lot cheaper.

200 yd hits on 12x12 steel targets have a very high giggle factor.

Very good aftermarket support for it too.

I like that flush mount rotary magazine feature, but I don't see them listed (.17HMR) for sale on line. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough. Is it the same as the A17 rifle?

I have a Savage bolt action that I bought a while back. It's a mk 4, I think. It functions perfectly and I like it very much.

I have a MK.2 SV-SR which has a short 16.5" threaded barrel. It is 17hmr so not a direct comparison to 22lr but even with the short barrel it will still hit a squirrel at 125 yrds no problem. I like it because it is compact and easy to pack.

Same rifle here, well the Mark II FVXP (packaged with scope) but that scope sucked so I replaced it with a $50 one. Shoots really, clean trigger, and inexpensive.

I have the fvt...I put an Apache trigger spring in it and I have a bunch of different from sight inserts...

I need to try it at 50 and 100 yards to see what I can do and what ammo it likes but at 25 yards with any ammo it's fun to test yourself shooting off a bag or unsupported...5 rounds all touching[emoji3]

I have a Savage 93R17 Accutrigger HB in 17HMR. 4-14 BSA scope with a great MRAD reticle. Rifle is a laser as long as the wind stays down.

I have the Savage Mark II BTVS. I love the thumbhole stock and it is accurate right out of the box with no mods. Just add a scope.

Almost picked up a Savage Mark II TR.....heard they shoot very well.
