Anschutz 54.30 Precise, Factory groups.

I just got my Anschutz 54.30 unboxed..


Sharing the test target 50 meters. Done in a tunnel probably. Unknown ammo or attempts.

Anyway, disappointing a little. ...

They ARE in fact a 10 shot group per Anschutz in a fixture, NOT in the factory stock. In a climate controlled tunnel using RWS R-50 ammo.


Anschutz claims they will do better in stock rather than the fixture. The fixture clamps THE BARREL, not the action!

Ha! Holy crap. 0.93" 5 shot group at 200 yards with 22lr.

Here is another link to a rimfire ammo test. Your rifle appears to be shooting acceptable groups. The groups in the test, were 10 shot and done at 50 yards, but they serve as a good comparison. http://bulletin.accurateshooter.com/

I wouldn't worry, every test group printout I've gotten from CZ has been exceeded by me behind the rifle.

I would expect the same from other manufacturers. They are probably going through dozens a day on each test shooter as fast as reasonably possible. Looking for anything exceptionally out of the ordinary.

seems to be a gathering of serious shooters on this thread.

I have a Winchester 52, 75 and a Marlin 2000, I enjoy competing with myself.
Too old to do anything serious on any level.

I can understand the reasoning behind much of the stuff that pro shooters wear,
at least to some extent. But can anyone explain to me what that
fat glove is for or better put, why do pro shooters use that glove.

Glove helps to solidify the position of the shooter, as used in conjunction with the jacket, and sling. It's all very stiff, and if you use a sling, it can basically hold up the rifle with the body as the statue behind it.


It's like being tied up in the padded movers blankets with tape. It's difficult to move it, but once you move into the position you want, it's easier to hold it.
