    Ruger BX 10/22 trigger anyone??

    i have a completely stock 10/22, this one https://www.ruger.com/products/1022C...eets/1151.html

obviously i'm not the first to dislike the trigger. i'm actually not opposed to the pull weight so much, but i can't get along with the ambiguous, mushy feel.
it seems there's a handful of aftermarket trigger assemblies for this, and then there's the ruger version
    this one https://www.brownells.com/rifle-part...prod73082.aspx

is this going to be a marginal improvement or will it actually cure my ills? if it reduces the pull weight but still feels like a sponge than it's not helping.

Get it, it's exactly as advertised by Ruger. Easy drop in and the price is very reasonable too. I have it and love it.

Have one on mine, better than stock trigger for sure. I have heard of a company called brimstone that tunes the original trigger, no experience with them though.

At that sale price hard to beat. I sent 2trigger groups to brimstone and 2mini trigger groups. 78 for the 10-22and 55for the mini’s. Should be here Tuesday

I might have gone the way of BX but at retail it wasn’t worth it to me but the sale price is nice!!

It is not a target trigger, but it is good on hunting rifle, my BX breaks at 2.5lbs, consistently.

                for sure.
it's all expectation vs reality but by all accounts it sounds like an improvement. if i was dropping 250 on it (more than the gun itself) i'd expect quite a bit more.

A good trigger is always worth the dough. I just put a BX in my 1981-made 10/22, and man! what a difference in trigger pull. It'sa niiiiiiiiiice.

I'm thinking of doing the bolt release. How does that work once it's installed?

                  Thanks.

It is pretty sad that Ruger sells it as an upgrade rather than it just coming with the rifle. It is not like they give the 10/22 away. Back in to good old days rifles came with decent triggers.

Also have one in my 10-22 I built just as a gun to have fun with. Decent trigger, reliable OEM part.
If I was building a precision target gun, I'd buy something else.

Also the auto bolt release is awesome.

I put one in mine. Worth every penny. I absolutely adore it. It will also make the bolt cycle smoother with less friction. It completely transformed my 10/22 from a decent plinker to a serious shooter.

I bought one for my Dad and told him he was going to pay me for it once I put it in his rifle. He told me he wasn't. Once I put it in his rifle and he shot it, I got my money back 30 rounds later.

Although other aftermarket triggers can fully take out the initial creep and provide overtravel support, the BX trigger is 90% better than the stock trigger with the weight reduction alone (still have a little creep and no overtravel stop); definitely worth the quick upgrade for the price.

Works with my volq. auto bolt release and extended mag release for a standard 10/22 too.

Just note that it doesn't work with aftermarket 10/22 triggers since it has a different trigger geometry so you'll need BX-specific triggers if you decide to further mod it.

At the full retail price of the Ruger trigger I would steer people to invest a little bit more money and get the Kidd innovations trigger kit. It doesn’t produce the lightest trigger pull but it is very crisp and the reset is really short.

However with the Brownell sale I would say that the BX would not be all that bad.

After putting 3 of the VQ match hammers into 10/22s I pulled the trigger (sorry ) on the BX trigger group. I was not disappointed, but the hammer replacement on it's own is still pretty nice.

I'm not a conny-sewer but the BX feels crisp & light. I'll have to put some miles on it before I decide if it $60-ish better than just the VQ hammer.
