Anschutz 54.30 Precise, does anyone have this??

Im thinking about getting this rifle.

Any benefits over the tried and tested 54 action?

    Sunday I shot a mini-palma match with 2 rifles.

Outshot my 54 by 1 x with my 64! They all shoot.

When I bought the 54 the guy made no effort to sell me a 54.30 instead even when invited to tell me what I should have.

Seems I recall the 54.30 has some feature that's better for true 3/4 position shooters??? I shoot f-class and a little bench.

Yeah, that 3rd one could be worth a lot in itself if it involves less squirming around to reload prone in a sling and coat. Not worth much for me because I have the rests to hold the rifle right on target while I move as much as necessary.

From the other thread you got the 54.30?

You'll love it enough to forget what you paid. Well maybe not forget but not regret it.

I have a Left Handed 2013. I did not know what a 54.30 is so I looked it up. It looks like it is an improved 2013. The 2013 is a 54 action with a flat bottom and the barrel is clamped in, making barrel changes easy. Good shooting with your new 54.30

You've probably read it too but my understanding is that air rifle scopes are actually MORE robust than 22 scopes and right up there with centerfire scopes.

You definitely didn't go half measures on price. Enjoy your new car, I mean rifle.

I thought from your other post you were getting back to formal 3P competition?
Seems like a lot of scope power for that.

I am getting into 3P, but also will use the rifle as my silhouette and benchrest and squirrel gun do all. With the price of this, I can't afford any other .22 let alone food and shelter.

And YES, humorously, I put in a rhetorical statement about the scope standing up to recoil, and I agree that the airgun scopes may be more robust because they're designed for the double recoil of a springer, which many firearms guys don't know recoil backwards AND forwards, whereas many rifle scopes will break on an airgun cause they're designed for recoil in 1 direction, ... rearward.

You'll be fine, I used a 16 power for 50 foot shooting and some guys were using more.
