Good insight. If I ever sell my Black Diamond, I'll head back for a visit. Want to dump my Walther P22-CA also since I purchased a "real" P22.

Got my Mohawk Brown in the late 70’s too. It was my first rifle. It always felt like a toy gun with all the plastic back then. Reliable and fun to shoot. Made the mistake of breaking it down to see “how it works “, boy that was a mistake.

The first rifle, or firearm of any kind, that I ever fired was a Nylon 66 in Apache Black. I was seven. The rifle belonged to my Dad; he did not have too many guns at the time, just this rifle and a Ruger standard model pistol. My Dad has passed, but it I have the rifle.
This thread prompted me to check the date code. Remington built mine in 1962. That is consistent with my memory. It has been more than 40 years since I fired it. I think it is due for a trip to the range.

FYI - saw one listed on the Northwestfirearms site yesterday. It was a black Apache asking $475 with scope.

Now all of you who bought sub $150 can go to bed with a smile on your face this PM

Mossberg 46b is a hidden gem. I bought mine for $50 before they ruined C&R in california, I did some restoration on the stock, and I wouldnt sell it for $500 now.

I saw a nylon 66 at outdoor sportsman in stockton over the weekend, if anyone is looking.

It's been there for several months-maybe they will take an offer.

Love these old Remington polymer rifles that came out in 1958. Have a few of them, have fixed more than I can remember and still enjoy them, they are the first polymer “frame”, FCG held in w cross pins firearm, assembled beautifully, artful firearm. Would love to find one of the other color salesman stocks, 22 short gallery, centennial or Remington anniversary models.
