Not sure of the answer to your question, but... are you a member at Rimfire Central?
If CalGuns can't help you, I am sure those guys can.

Cleaning the magazines usually stops this behavior. The BM has a weak spring on the slide lock lever, designed to make sure it stays down when the slide cycles under recoil The magazine spring will easily overcome it to lock the slide open after the last shot, providing the follower isn't dragging from dirty residue.
I clean mine with One Shot spray cleaner and dry lube, it does it all in one can and leaves a film of dry lube behind, good stuff. I use it instead of oil in all my rimfire firearms, and use a little TW-25 grease on the slide rails.sigpic

Mine doesnt lock back when pulled back by hand sometimes, always doesn't when shooting though. Mine is an almost brand new 1992 model.Originally posted by ar15barrelsSo you are throwing out 95% of reality to select the 5% of reality where you are actually right?

I wouldn't worry much on the dryfire. Modern vs Older Buckmarks. We run 16 Buckmarks, three times a month for classes and dryfire happens.
I agree with russ69 check your thumb. What kind of ammo are you using?Pennys Dad

- If your BM brand new then shoot a bout 1K round then report back , if it still happened.
- If you shoot with SV then change to HV for a round 1K rds then swap back to SV , report back if it still happened.
I suspect that your recoil spring is too strong, but I could be wrong.Comment

I have been shooting a buckmark silhouette for 25 years the only time it failed to lock back was cheap ammo very inconsistent some of the white box garbage that's out there once I went to CCI standard it's been perfect ever since and much more accurate also make sure you clean all of the factory Lube and cosmoline out of the actionComment
