    MP5 .22LR ejector

I just came from the range using my MP5 and again, the spent casings kept shooting back at me. Last time it got me on the side of face, literally next to my eye. My safety glasses actually kept it in place and gave me a pretty ugly burn. Still, thank God I had the glasses on. Could have been worse.

Today, it ejected on my neck and a few into my shirt. My neck has a slight burn but nothing crazy.

Anyone else have this issue with their MP5?

GSG or Walther? I have the latter with thousands upon thousands of rounds through it and never had an issue with the spent casings hitting me. Does this occur against all your mags?

      It's the Weather version.

No, I can't say that it does happen with all my magz. To be a little more detailed, the casings aren't all shooting directly into my face, they just seem to be flying in my general direction with some hitting me.

Hmm..maybe it is just a particular mag? I'll have to find out next time.

Has this ever happened before? If no, then what has changed?

*Ejector and or extractor. Extractor channel gunked up? Clean it out, check tension and tip.
Deformed ejector? Notched or flattened or looks irregular?

All ammo comes back at you? Try another lot or brand of ammo. Standard or HV ammo?

        Properly lubed?

Lol this exact same thing happened to me, with the same gun. shell bounced off the lane wall and landed perfectly between my eyebrow and glasses ( i have the sunglass type, not closed top type) so I Had a nasty burn in the perfect shape of a .22 for about 2 weeks

But like I said mine bounced off the lane wall. my MP5 does not eject directly to my face. Perhaps you had an OOB and your ejector is damaged.

            Yes it's happened before.

No gunk, cleaned, tip is normal, high velocity ammo. I use CCI.

Lubed it and specifically the ejector before shooting, since this has happened before.

The gun barely has a few hundred rounds through it.

            It's practically new.

The odd thing is the first time it happened was on my A5. I used the SD and same things were happening.

I'm thinking it might be a particular mag, as suggested by another calgunner.

Mine was worse cause it rolled down my face and burned a 2" mark down my face.

It gets even crazier, I was wearing a cap!!! The casing went between my cap and glasses. It lodged itself between the arm of the glasses and my face. Then rolled down.

Nobody likes shooting a firearm that's dangerous at both ends.[emoji33]
