    CZ 452 American ammo test

Hey guys I ran a few different types of ammo through my CZ, some are a bit higher end others not so much, I guess it showed with the Aguila. I took 3 shots of each type per target then measured group size with my digital calipers. Groups were measured from outer hole to outer hole of 2 furthest holes, If done from center to center it would be a bit tighter.
Conditions were great, low 80's (shade was around 75 degrees)
    shots taken at 40 yards

Tightest groups came from Fiocchi Official 320 @ .300"
    and the Gemtech @ .349"

Thanks. Now repeat the tests with 5 shot groups at 75 and 100 yards.
40 yards with a rifle isn't far enough in my opinion.

Too much drop at those distances for me, specially for subsonic but perhaps in the future.

40 yards is fine but 3-shot groups don't tell you much. Also there is always a chance that some of those groups are due to shooter error. That Aguila group could be caused by trigger finger.

Drop from 25 to 100 yards for HV should be about 9 MOA, SV should be about 11 MOA -- well within your scope's capabilities.

FWIW my own 452 V will shoot practically anything 1.5 MOA, taking shooter out of the equation (call it 0.6" at 40 yards), but seems to prefer CCI SV out of the low-cost ammo, Wolf MT and SK Std+ out of premium ammo (these and some others are sub-MOA). This is consistent with your results so far.

I shot 2 Aguila groups to make sure there wasnt a flier, both ended up measuring around the same.

Aguila surprises me here. Wondering which 22 load it was? SV or SS? Their SV stuff is not good IME.
I like the subsonic hollow point Aguila. All my 22 rifles run it well enough accuracy wise.
I shoot it in my Savage MK2 and get very precise <1" out of it at 50yds. Weather permitting.
It is known that staying subsonic helps accuracy so that's all i shoot.

I was told by a guy that shot 22LR in high level competitions and repeated in this forum that it can require dozens of rounds to be fired to stabilize accuracy when switching ammo in a barrel. The differences in the alloy and lube coat the barrel grooves differently.
So if switching ammo I would fire least 10 shots to season the barrel then a couple of 5 or 10 shot groups. This would include statting from a cleaned barrel.

A good .22 will shoot itsy bitsy groups at 50yds with good ammo. The further you shoot, the more they open up.
