    Sears (High Standard) Model 34

    Hey guys,
So I picked up a pretty sweet Model 34 in great shape the other day. It had a scope on it at some point and I would like to put something on it now. Can any of you guys tell me what scope mount this thing takes? Everything I have is pic mount so I don't even know what to look for. I think it'd be pretty neat to put a little rds on it and plink away. Thanks for any info guys.
Man, this place has gone bonkers.

    Two things:
    (1) For pistol scope you have to pick the scope that has "Eyes Relief" around your arm length, 16-30". (The rifle scope eyes relief is about 2-4").
    (2) For .22RL there are two kind of scope rail : Dovetail and Weaver/Picatiny . I do not have Sears HS so I do not what kind of scope rail .

Why don't you post the picture of the pistol show the area of the scope rail and also the scope tube size so you can give people the ideal what kind of scope mount.

If I recall correctly, there should be two thin 'grooves' on the top of the rifle receiver. It will look like styling to someone who is unfamiliar with it.

These are 'tip off' scope mount grooves, and accommodate the 3/8" rimfire tip-off mount scopes.

I have a Sears [high standard] rifle also, and it has those grooves. I think most .22lr semi-auto rifles produced after something like 1960 had them.

Before 1950, and it isn't as clear.

      Enjoy!

Where did all the range-time go?

Thanks for the reply, I've been busy but will upload a pic tomorrow. There is a model 34 pistol but this model 34 is a rifle. I hope you can still identify what I need with a picture.

Thanks for the tip...get it haaha tip off haaha...anyways. Yes, what you said sounds about right. I'll upload a picture tomorrow and hopefully you can confirm. I'll measure the dovetail as well. But you mentioned 3/8" dovetail and it just sounds like that's what I need. Looking at mounts and crossreferencing with rimfirecentral it looks like it's just called "dovetail", as if that was the old standard. I found a dovetail to weaver adapter for $10. I'm going to order that up from amazon and give that a whirl. Thanks again!

          Good luck!

3/8 or tip/off or rimfire dovetail is how I've usually seen it listed currently.

I have about 6 rimfires with those dovetails filled. I haven't matured enough to buy the best optics, as I don't use them enough to make it worth the money.

that says more about my free time than anything. Argh.

          Enjoy!

Dovetail rail on the rifle with .22LR round (for reference), find this rail on your rifle then you are done.

              High Standard / Sears 34

If it is a dovetail mount AKA grooved receiver I have found 3/8 to weaver/picatinny mounts. I used one on a Henry pump and mounted a BSA Sweet 22 3-9 good fun shooting with the combination.
