My Rimfire Target was purchased last year and it had problems extracting. I sent it to Ruger and they did some machining on the bolt. It did smooth it out and extraction tosses the spent brass at the 5 O'clock position consistently now.

As for ammo, I used Federal Match 711B and Ultramatch. I didn't really see any difference. On a few good groups, maybe it will get about 0.5 to 0.6 inches at 50 yards. The average groups seem to be around 0.75" consistently at 50 yards. Compared to a CZ 455, a CZ 455 would shoot tighter groups consistently.

Frankly, Ruger American Rimfire and the Target model I have just can't compete against CZ for accuracy. It is acceptable for plinking at least.

We used these rifles for the Youth Booth at the Sports Fair. They where so popular that a dozen or more first time shooters went right out and bought them. This is a great rifle. They lasted 3 days and a few hundred shooters.
