    "Better-Mag" by Redi-mag

Anyone have any real world experiences with the "Better-Mag" SW M&P15-22 Magazine adapter from Redi-Mag? Building a .22lr AR with a dedicated .22 upper from PSA and ordered one, along with some M&P15-22 mags. I know mags can be a major issue with these builds, and it seems that the SW AP15-22 mags are the most reliable out there. The only problem is that they are proprietary to the SW rifles. Read up on this adapter and it seems to be mana from heaven, and even allows last round bolt hold-open to function (like a "real" AR, lol).

Want to know that one also..... would love to use S&W mags in my AR22 , but...I read somewhere that it will not work with a DMPS upper....

I'd like to get that set up..

I’ve had mine for a really long time. 3+ years. It’s the only way to go in my opinion. I have never had a single issue with any of my mags. Remember to remove it to clean it is all I can say. We know how dirty rumfire can be.

Really glad to read this. This will end up being the most expensive .22 I've ever owned, approaching the cost of a couple of my "full-size" ARs. I just want to make sure it runs right the first time. Sure, I could've pick up a 10/22 and put a bunch of tactical crap on it, but I hate when people do that (just my personal preference). Sure, I could've picked up a marlin 60, saved $500 and been accurate out of the box, but I already have a 60 (since 1987). Just had to scratch this AR22 itch... and follow it down another money pit.

              Definitely worth it IMO.

I use one in my dedicated rimfire AR. It works exactly as advertised. When you remove it to clean (and you'll want to do that, rimfire is dirty ammo!) take careful notice of the bolt stop actuator position. It's easy to forget which way it goes back into the adapter and engages the rifle's bolt stop.

I've burned a lot of rounds in my rimfire AR, more now that it has a BFS installed. The adapter has never failed to hold open when empty and has never held the bolt open when it should not have done so. It is definitely worth the price.
I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!
