    Marlin 600

    What's the difference between a Marlin 600 and a 60?
    Thanks

Looks like the 600 was made for big 5 stores

The Marlin Model 60 and the Model 600 are basically the same firearm.

The only difference between the two (Model 600 vs standard Model 60), was that the Model 600 had a gold-plated metal trigger and a stainless steel bolt.

The Marlin Model 600 was, made from 1986-1989, specifically for the Big 5 sporting gun store chain.

It was Big 5's exclusive Marlin Model 60.

It was discontinued due to poor sales over the standard Model 60.
^Primarly because it was priced higher than the standard Model 60.

I have never seen one. Sounds interesting. And in that year range it likely has the 22 inch barrel, last Shot hold Open and of course longer tube capacity that goes with the longer barrel. Is it yours or maybe going to be? Would like to see some pics.

            I have one .......
My Dad bought one brand new and put it away in the new box....
            Never shot one round .....

Just a few years ago he asked me " Do you want this .22 rifle ,it's just sitting around......."

Now is it one of my favorite .22 rifles

Wow, that's pretty lucky for you!

I'd never heard of the 600 until this thread, but the 60 is awesome, I love mine.

This is from 50yds, the first time I shot mine... 7rds in each outer dot, 14 in the bullseye:

Settle down, folks. The new "ghost gun" regulations probably don't do what you think they do.

The 60 has a "hardwood" stock. The 600 has a walnut stock.
