    Found two Marlin Beautys today

Bought these both at the Local Show today.

I have a Marlin 99M1. But have looked long for a 989M2. Found a very nice one. Made in 1967. Very nice shape and even has the impossible to find rear sight. Hard enough to find the M2 version, let alone with the sight. First M2 I have ever found at a local show.

Other is a very nice little Papoose I have wanted for a long time. It is near mint. Made in 1989, thankfully prior to the the Hostile Remington takeover. Came with case, wrench, and it came with two Marlin 15 round mags. The 15 rnd mags are Marlin marked, and Made in New Haven, CT. Part number 407776.

I have never even encountered these 15 round Marlin marked mags before. Anyone know who made them for Marlin, or did they themselves? The 15 round mags function great in Both Firearms.

Anyway same guy had both, so I asked best money for both. No tax and paperwork, out the door for 350.00 for it all. Not a great deal, but I am thrilled nonetheless.

    Pic hopefully attached. Thanks

Very cool that the state of Nebraska let you take them home without a 10 day wait.

I won't tell you what I paid for a used 989M2 back in 1980, but I wanted it because the rear sight being at the back of the receiver givies a longer sight radius. I also like that the Marlin magazine are interchangeable between many models. I have 7 and 10 round steel stick mag's and the plastic banana mag but wish I had a 15 steel stick mag for my 989.

Great you have a M2 also.

Probably bought yours for around 50.00 or less?

The good old days. Now the dang rear sights bring around 100.00.

Yes it is good out here. Can even walk out with Handguns instantly, as long as my Handgun purchase permit is up to date, without it, take about 15 minutes longer..

It was definitely more restrictive when I still lived out there. My Brother is still out there, so he has to put up with it.

Does your M2 have a serial on the receiver, or is it pre 1968 GCA?

I will have to pick up some larger capacity steel mags. I think the Plastic Marlin ones I have are somewhat collectible now it appears.

With he Clinton Ban, Marlin stopped making them, or were forced to anyway.
