Holy crap, that’s the exact rifle my uncle used to take rabbit hunting with my grandfather and me! I haven’t even thought about it in 30+ years. No idea what it’s worth, but thank you for the rush of good memories

I have a nylon 66 I picked up a while back, had it to the range twice & it shot great with no misfires or problems. The sticker on the stock has to be worth something but there is a lot of info about these rifles so you shouldn't have much trouble finding your answer. Good luck!

Had one when I was a kid. Great little rifles. Wanted to always replace it, but the Nylon series got too collectible.. They are coming down alot though. Could have been maybe a 5 or 600.00 range one a few years back.

Now I would say in the 3 to 400.00 range if it is as nice in person. Still way more than I would pay. But some collector will.

Heck, find two collectors willing to fight, and it may bring 700.00

In the end it is worth what you can get for it.

Sweet, I still have mine. My mom gave it to me when I graduated HS in 1979. We got it at a K Mart. Probably haven’t shot it in 10 years

I've owned and sold several Mohawks in the past. In good condition they seem to sell for $2-$300. In the condition you described, maybe a bit more. I've seen one new in the box with the papers, etc. sell for $550 (don't know the year of manufacture). There was a gun on CC asking around $2K for a new Nylon in the box unfired. Last time I checked he had dropped his price considerably and it was unsold. Those in great condition can be collectable, but don't forget that the Mohawk is the most common and least collectable of the Nylons. If you are trying to sell it, keep in mind that at a gun show I recently attended there were at least 5 Nylons for sale, two in immaculate condition. Asking price on both was $350 and I'm not sure if either sold and if so, for how much. Collectors are mostly looking for the Black and Chrome Apache and the Green Seneca's.

Have to agree with all of the comments here, and add my own story.

My dad picked up a black 66 back in '77 or '78 from Gemco (no longer around). Still has the box and sticker from the store. We must have put 10,000 rounds through that thing and, wait for it...he never once cleaned it. He gave it to me last year, and the first thing I did was clean the action, barrel, etc. You should have seen the accumulated gunk. But it shot like a champ and never misfired.

My 10/22 is my go-to right now, but the little 66 is sitting there with great memories and ready to play with my kids when the time comes. That's one I won't sell.

Yea I don't plan on selling it . It's got kind of a morbid story behind it. The previous owner before the guy I got it from had cancer and bought this rifle to end his suffering. They guys wife then sold it to my neighbor for 10 bucks. Assuming after she got it back from the police. My neighbor has had it since and has only shot it a handful of times . I got it for $200 and plan on shooting it .

Didn't those also come in a lever action model? Seems like I remember seeing one.

Yes it was the model 76. I wanted one of these for years as a kid. I'm still looking. They also made a bolt action version. (Model 11, I think)

Nice! I really like these old rifles.
