Very few outdoor ranges pick up 22 LR brass, and I am sure they would consider it a service if you asked them for permission to remove the 22 LR brass from their ranges.

I used to shoot smallbore competition, which is 22 LR, and we always picked up our brass. It is common to see 5 gallon buckets filled with 22 LR brass at the ranges that hosted smallbore competitions. The closest range that hosts smallbore competition, to San Diego, is in El Monte, CA.

Best to only reload from the gun your going to shoot it out of , the kit does not resize the brass .

No one picks up .22 brass. So you best call around and see if you can pick some at local ranges at off hours.

And that doesn't really do a real good job . Wrinkle some cases , and damages the rim on others , too much lube and your going to need to clean them , again .

And just so you know , not all rims are the same . Use a micrometer , oh yeah , that's how you check for the head space so all your match rounds are the same .

Good to know. I haven't used one, was thinking about getting one for 22 mag, but it would probably be worse for wrinkling cases and damaging rims.

Back in the 1970's you could buy new 22LR primed brass. I thought it was strange that people would reload something that you could buy finished for 1 penny each. Regular everyday price was $5 for a 500 round brick. Sometimes you could get them for 2 for $5 on sale.

Back then serious target shooters loaded their own ,for better performance,
was hard to find the likes of Eley target back then.

22 rimfire has come a ways since then.
