So no plans on changing the barrel then?

i like the report and looks like its shooting good as well. ive had a few of the athlon scopes...both were the 6-24 argos BTRs...they are ok for what you pay for them but when looking through them for a long time(for instance a long match or day shooting)thats when i realized the glass is not so great.

i sold both and bought a GEN2 PST and put on my CZ which is hands down better glass...i can look through the PST for several hours of shooting with no eye strain or fatigue...ive read some complaints about the GEN2 PSTs...i have two of them(one on the 22 and one on a 6CM)and have had zero issues.

Thanks for the write up and look forward to more testing with it. Regarding Athlon, lowest I would go would be the Ares BTR. Would be nice if same trigger system are the RPR then you can put the timney in it. How’s did the bolt feel? Keep us posted.

            Good stuff!

Wonder if groups would tighten up with some Wolf Match Extra.

After getting rid of all my .22lr rifles/handguns, I'm left with a boat load of match ammo

For ammo testing a 22 Rimfire at 25/50 yards you can buy a brand new Weaver 36X for under $400. I use as much magnification as I have available when testing loads at distances 600 yards or less. Once you know what works you can then switch it out.

Ya - good idea, or at least one that my eyes liked better - I guess I could also take a high $ one off another rifle..

I thought of you when I cut a piece off my action wrench and tapped the ADM onto it At least the rifle is no longer trying to do an endo just stilling on the bipod. It feels way better off hand and on a barricade.

I think I am just going with the Eley, for now.. however, the offset and eye strain of the cheap scope might need to be addressed.

When I look at the two 50y groups of Eley - what I notice, is that maybe I had a large parallax thing going on between the two groups. Not talking about group size, but the POI shift (the white centers are 1"). There was a seize fire period between them.. My guess is that part of the reason my eye strain was so bad was because I must still of had some issue with the ocular/focus/parallax and I didn't remount the rifle the same way.. The offset between those two groups is wicked.. I normally don't see much of an offset, even day to day with my other rifles.

Again, I was very unsettled behind the scope/rifle. On a bipod, that's just not going to work. I was not paying attention at all to the wind. But there was about a 4-6ish on off wind, but at only 50 yards, I am guessing max.5 mil (about 1 inch @50)? But I really think the offset was just me with a bit of help from the poor scope settings.

Anyway, the gun even with the 5lbs trigger shoots as well as I hoped, but I'll need some work behind it. I ordered a 2 stage Timney tonight Most my other rifles are Huber, so it should feel more natural to me.

All I know 22, is what I shot as a kid and my 1911 practice pistol...I was surprised that even as close as 25 yards some ammo like the cheapest Federal Bulk looked like a shot gun. I heard 22's were ammo sensitive, but wow was I surprised.

I keep hearing I should try Aguila or Wolf. All I had was that Aguilia whisper quite stuff I think it is about 420FPS, it shot great at 25 - but I don't think it will make the longer range match targets, so I didn't even shoot it at 50 - I have so much other stuff now I need to run through it..

                    Thanks for all the help~

All of them do something better than the 30-06, but none of them do everything as well.

Interesting rifle for the price, certainly much cheaper than a CZ with an MPA chassis. Your comment about the lightweight/unbalanced chassis confirms my suspicions a little bit about where the cost savings comes in. Although, I put a few rounds through my buddy's centerfire RPR and thought the same thing. Regardless, at that price, I expect to see a few of these start popping up at the precision rimfire match.

I can agree with your sentiments on the Athlon Argos. I put one on my CZ and it is.. "ok" for a dirt cheap FFP scope.. but really leaves a lot to be desired. I primarily picked it up for 15-25 yard parallax adjustment, which is a heck of a lot better (In terms of short range parallax adjustment ONLY) than the spare SWFA 5-20 I was running before.
