    Ordering Tactical Sol. Barrel

    Rimfire gang,

I have a Browning Buckmark Standard that I will be able to pay off soon from Buds. I've been looking at some of the nice, upgraded Buckmark in this forum and elsewhere.

The Tactical Solutions barrel is the most commonly bought aftermarket barrel. I'd like to emulate some of the samples I've seen.

I am confused though, when I browsed the Tactical Solutions Inc. Website. it says that for California, we have to order from a dealer?? Is this correct, we have to go through a dealer just to order a barrel?? Also, the " cap " or " compensator " will have to be pinned to the barrel, adding another $25.00 to the price??

Most of the Tac Sol barrels are threaded.

Under CA laws, installing a threaded barrel on a semi-auto pistol that does not have a fixed magazine is making an assault weapon.

In order to be CA legal, the muzzle cap/nut or muzzle device needs to be permanently attached (pinned/welded) to the threaded barrel.

I ordered mine direct from TacSol. They would not ship to CA, even to a gunsmith with a comp along with it. So I paid MSRP but they installed and pinned the comp for $25.

I love the barrel, FF3 red dot and Hogue grips. It used to be Silhouette model.

I ordered mine from a TacSol vendor and had it shipped to Cali. Barrel cap is pinned and welded and you would hardly even be able to tell.
