NEW walther P22 QD

There's a new walther P22 that's NOT available to California, P22 QD. There's a "captured" recoil spring and a decocker. from youtube, the new P22QD is more reliable and less ammo picky than our P22CA version. The new P22qd even cycled subsonic ammo without a hitch.

my question; do you think the captured spring can be installed in our P22CA version to improve reliability?

Probably already solved your captured spring where-abouts but just in case...

Got mine for under $20. It fit perfectly in my Ca model w/ 3.75"barrel. There are 2 brands out there I know of...I got the Tandemkross, no particular reason other than it was available and part of a larger order from Midway. They are all over Ebay as well.

Still cycles like rolling dice but at least I won't poke my eye out with a flying spring when trying to disassemble the thing.

They should sell the P22-CA version and the capture spring as "a set" .

Hey Everybody, I'm in the market for a compact semi-auto 22LR, and since the SR22 is off-roster, the P22 seems the only way to go if I don't wanna shell out an excessive premium for the Ruger via PPT.

I, too, saw that 22Plinkster vid and am wondering about installing an aftermarket captured spring to help with ammo cycling consistency.


Which brand of captured recoil spring did you get?

I'd like to fix this thing (P22) ...but if I knew then what I know now I think I'd save a bit longer and go with a Ruger or Browning.

This Walther is fun and the grip is incredibly ergonomic but it hasn't run 100 straight yet without a few failure to eject or stovepipe problems.

Yeah, it's frustrating because when the Ruger SR22 first came out, I thought it was pretty cool and wanted one, but didn't have the money at the time... And of course it became off-roster soon after! Arghh!
