AR 17hmr

Just as good as my CZ 455 17hmr! I had 1 FTF , was the ammo. All ammo tested cycled. Lower is a billet JP. Scope is a Leopold 3.5x10. All groups at 50 yards where under .75 which was made by CCI. smallest group at 50 yards was Winchester varmint LF., with out the flyer was .35". At 100 yards the largest group was ( federal ) 1" . Smallest group was CCI , including flyer, 1". Without the flyer .50" . Measured from center of hole. At 50 yards the Winchester was a 4 shot group because one round was FTF. I don't know the reason why the CCI grouped Smaller at 100 yards.

Same charging handle as a standard AR, the bolt is way different, two big ball bearings on each side of the BCG. I have to pinch the bearings together for the BCG to be inserted in to the upper. First few rounds there was a noticible twang as the gun cycled after each shot, but at the end of my shooting session I did not notice the sound. What I feel that it needed was a swivel stub in front of the forearm so that someone could install a bipod. Also the hold open for the BCG will not work, so you have to put a empty round in the ejection port during safety checks at the range. If you take the mag. out the bolt will go forward.

Definitely a GREAT option to convert your AR15 in CA to keep it the same as what you are used to.

That is one of the main reasons why I bought the upper. It came out at the right time. That and I love shooting at squirrels.

I followed their directions and flipped it, then dropped it in first to act as a spacer. It runs great!

I don't have any experience with the AA 17HMR, but this one is definitely well thought out and functions very well.
