    Bersa 644

    Hey guys,

I recently came across a Bersa 644 at a local gun shop. It looks a lot like a PPK, condition is decent, and it feels very nice in hand ergonomics and all. I must say I am very interested.

The thing is, I am unable to find any additional info online regarding this pistol, besides a Bersa chat forum that mainly talk about newer Bersa models and a site that sells replacement parts for this gun. No user manuals to be found either.

Any of you know more about this pistol besides that is made in Argentina in the late 70s and early 80s? I wanna know if this is a decent firearm that will not blow up in my face or jam if using a low speed ammo. Any tips on maintaining a gun that's decades old if I want to use it at a range once a month or so?

Sorry for the newbie questions, and thanks in advance.

I have a Bersa Minifirestorm 9mm that is Made in Argentina. Damn good pistol. Accurate, reliable, compact, DA/SA and all steel construction. The magazine are pretty pricy though,$50 each.
Dont just make a choice, be the person who makes the better choice.

SA XD9, Kimber TAC II 45, Bersa Minifirestorm 9, 1858 Remington Pietta, 1851 Navy Pietta, M1 Garand, Stoeger coachgun

Good to hear that your piece is well made. The 644 is SA only. You are right about being pricey, I saw on triple K (the only place that sells magazine for this model) is going for $48 bucks a pop.

I made up my mind after last posting to make the purchase. Hope it functions as well as yours. Will post some photos here after the 10 day wait.
