If you've looked into this red dot, you'll notice the price fluctuates a lot. It's $50 on Amazon right now, which is pretty decent (it rarely dips below $50).

Saw that, and bought one. I now have four of these little gems. Two were bought around Father's Day, when they each had a $40 rebate attached. All 4 were bought on Amazon, which always seems to have the lowest prices. -
I have bought them on Amazon for about $40 on Black Friday in previous years, so I'd wait until next week.

Originally posted by 1911LuvrI beg to differ. The full length dust cover rail makes a world of difference in the "when I run out of bullets I'm going to beat you to death with the pistol" look that causes bad guys to run in fear, and lesser men to feel inadequate. It looks just plain beastly and the extra heft up front does help manage recoil a bit better. Plus, an angel told me that when God called JMB to heaven it was to build him a full rail 1911!Comment

The question is, will it be the old model with bronze lettering or the new one with white lettering. Because the new ones have an issue with the emitter it seems, where you can only see the dot if you are lined up directly behind it - just like an iron sight

The one I just bought last week has bronze letters. I have one I bought last year that has white letters. In my experience this is no difference. The white letter model has lived on one of my Buckmarks since I bought it and after at least 2000 rounds it still works fine. The dot on all my Bushnell TRS-25's is a little fiddly to acquire but the more you use it the easier it gets. I will admit that the dot on my one and only C-more is way faster to acquire but it costs 5 times what a TRS-25 does. Your mileage may vary.Comment

Hmm, made me look at mine. The lettering looks sort of olive green in sunlight, so I guess that's the bronze? I think it was made somewhere around 2012-ish.Comment
