Need help deciding on a possible new rifle.

I was originally thinking of getting a 10/22 and getting a stock and barrel etc etc, but after doing the math it doesn't sound good to me anymore.
Been tossing around the idea between:

Ruger American Target: Around 399 on sale. Nice trigger, bull barrel, nice wood stock that I think is comfy, pillar bedded. Only downside is no removable barrel and no iron sights.

CZ 455: Around 500 with a tacticool stock, interchangeable barrels. I like the fact that I can buy a .17 HMR barrel in the future. Trigger feels good but have Only handled 1 and at the time was not interested in buying so I didn't take much notice.

Savage mark ii: Around 300 to 350. Big 5 has the kryptec fluted barrel on sale for 309 right meow. Appears to have a removable barrel. Trigger is nice, stock feels a little small.

Anyone have any info good or bad on any of these?

I'll have to agree with this. You can get the CZ 455 in many flavors, with several different stocks.

I was facing similar choice. I already have a few 10/22s and just wanted another bolt action.
I liked CZ better then Ruger and I did not consider Savage, because i think that their quality is subpar.
I bought CZ 455 with mannlicher stock. Very accurate. Trigger was good out of the box and it can be further improved with cheap springs. I do not plan to add another barrel to it, I wanted dedicated .22 LR bolt action. I also replaced CZ trigger guard with steel one from DIP, with a few other parts.

HaHa, has 10/22, thinks Savage is subpar.

Turners has the S&W AR15 22L.R. on sale for $299. I'd get that over the 10/22. I have a 10/22 and it isn't anything special. I have the Savage MKii. I bought it used from a fellow CalGunner. It shoots and works great. Love it. Just some thoughts.

I just picked up two cz455s. One varmint, one training. Both feel amazing. There is a huge CZ community over at rimfire central and they are incredibly helpful. If you want to upgrade there is a guy that will get the 455 too shoot .2's or better at 50 yards for about $600. My triggers suck, but can be fixed very inexpensively. Just waiting on the parts. Also check out Richard's microfit stocks. Some really great wood options and fair prices. Send me a pm if you have any questions. I'm in Los Angeles area and get to the range pretty often if you want to shoot them.

                  OP
Look at what your local gun shops and pawn shops have on their shelves.
You may find something really special.

I found my CZ 17HMR and another 10/22 that way.
CZ for $350 and Rugger for $25. Rugger was beat to hell, but was easy to fix/repair.
CZ was an old special order and customer didn't finish the layaway.

Anyway, try to keep an open mind on 22RF rifles.

A 22RF practically needs a bent barrel to NOT shoot well.
Savage Mk2's are really accurate. Mine is anyway.
Great for us big boys and any newbies or kids.

Just wondering what your other 4,300 posts were about since you ask about the 4 most normal 22s.

When we go shooting the S&W 15-22 sits on the rifle rack mostly. It's a nice rifle but the 10/22's get much more trigger time. After a few simple mods they are just better in every way.

Find a Marlin 39A while it may still be affordable.
