Was in Yesterday at the Big 5 Store in Tierra Nova Shopping center- Chula Vista, went to the ammo counter and was surprizingly amazed at the amount of various .22 lr for sale.I picked up 5 boxes of the CCI Standard velocity to shoot out of my High Standard. Life is good. BTW, check at the Walmart in N.C.

I have been looking for .22lr for years at Walmart with no luck. I finally found a bunch online for a good price and bought it up. Anyway I went down to Walmart today to buy some .223 ammo and Walmart had tons of .22lr I had to laugh. Go figure the time I don`t need any they have a ton.

The Sportsmans Warehouse in Rocklin had more .22LR than I have seen in one place in 5 years. It was overpriced at $.10 for CCI and $.07 for Thunderbolts.

Since you are in San Diego. There is now a whole store dedicated to just ammo in Clairemont Mesa. Called lax ammo, prices are comparable to online on some.

Will they honor their online price for walk in customers? If so, some of my 2018 ammo dollars may come their way. If not, f' 'em!

EDIT: From the FAQ at the LAX Ammo website:
"Can I pick up the same item, for the same price at the Range & Ammo Store?
No, our website www.laxammo.com is separate from the Firing Range and will not honor online prices, or vice versa. We also, again, do NOT allow orders to be picked up from the warehouse/range. For more information on the difference of our online store and retail shop, please click the "Website Only Deals" image."

If you go and talk to the guy might be possible. I asked about 22 ammo and he just gave me 20 bucks off the advertised sale price just because lol.

Big 5 has lot of over priced ammo on it's shelves. Wally world is much lower.

I STILL wanna know where all that ammo went a couple of years ago. It sure seems plentiful now. I'm happy about that, since I can't reload rimfire and will be running with the "I'm not buying no stinking ammo permit" crowd.

I'm with you, except I have 20,000 rounds of .22LR and am focusing on brass 9mm and .223/5.56 ammo right now. After the first of the year it will be reloading components (I already have 4K SR and 4K SP primers).

BTW - I was just at the Roseville Walmart and the shelves were full of $.08/rnd CCI Mini-mags and Winchester SuperX and $.05/rnd Thunderbolts. It seems the stuff is just not moving now.
