452's are not being produced anymore. While it is possible that you could score one for 300, if the seller knows CZ rimfires, I dont think you re likely to putchase it at the low end of its value.
I would expect to pay closer to 350.
Now if it was a 455 training rifle, I wouldnt pay much more than 300. Quality control on the 455s has been generally inconsistent.

The 452 Trainer is a superb rimfire, its accuracy, quality and craftsmanship is comparable to Anschutz. The trigger is its only complain point, but major improvement is a DYI job with a kit available on the internet for $18 http://www.yodaveproducts.com/BLACK RIFLES MATTER!Comment

I think the 452's accuracy is comparable to an Anschutz 64 action. The upper-end 54-actions are in a class of their own, however. And they are priced in a class of their own, too.100% agree, $350-$400

I would take a 455 American (straight comb, non-iron sight) over savage, ruger, etc. I am biased however.
Depending on how anal you are with accuracy and your DIY abilities, a lot can be fixed with a devcon bedding job and more can be addressed by dumping $$ into it.
What is your budget?

That is a great point. I do have a 452 trainer in 17hmr that is scoped, ut it is not nearly as comfortable to shoot scoped as my 22lr non-scoped trainer or my ultra lux.
The scoped american is much more enjoyable to shoot espevially off the bench where most of my shooting occurs.
Here is a 17hmr trainer with a Weaver Grand Slam 4-16x44 which is short enough to sit behind the rear sight. If a 17hmr American was availanle at the time I would have opted for it since I do not intend to use sights with it.

It depends on the scope.
Here is my 17 HMR 452 Trainer
