    Yeah, right.

      This.
The only ammo I ever lost was because of that exact reason. Never had any trouble with high temperatures, as long as you keep them dry.

Being here in California and facing uncertain availability and pricing prompted me to upgrade my ammo storage. I bought a Cannon extrawide on sale at TSC, then bought melamine shelving at HD that is deep enough to shack boxes three deep. Picture shows the top half. Currently has a little over 50k rounds in it, ordered another 5k of Minimags yesterday for $325 delivered. My goal is to have a 10 year supply by the end of this year. Gavin Newsome is a great motivator - two years ago, I rarely had 1K on hand.

Well, there is high temperatures, and then there are HIGH TEMPERATURES! Here in Phoenix it can get over 120F in June. (We just had 122F last week). Keep ammo in your garage in that kind of weather, then park a hot car or 2 in it, and you can easily be looking at 140F+ in the garage. You do not want to store ammo, primers, or powder in those kind of temperatures.

Maybe it is terrible in YOUR guns, but it is terrible in all my guns too!

It's amazing how heavy a .50cal can is when packed to the top with .22 ammo, isn't it?

Beat me to it! I just ordered those a few days ago myself. Don't think we will ever see an online deal that good again... Surprised they're still in stock. They must have a ton of 'em.

Mine only go back to $8.99 a brick.

If the darn cans weren't so heavy (and so many) I'd dig some out and post a picture of the price tags.

I'm thinking of buying some more but the price has me in shock!
(But I do have a couple of empty ammo cans still...)

I've been going back and forth on this deal and just ordered some a couple of days ago because, as you said, this deal will probably never come around again.

Now to fill them with more ammo

Where did you find CCI MiniMags for $325 shipped? That's a good price these days.

OK, gonna show my age, I still have 50rd boxes from K-Mart, marked at $1.99. Kept in 30cal can for...well, a loonngg time. They aren't high velocity, so they don't cycle a s/a pistol or a 10-22, but work fine in revolvers and bolt action. Never had a FTF with them.
