Ruger American 17 hmr

I don't think even Ruger could screw up a .17 HMR. Great cartridge, but I mostly see CZ and Savage .17's. If I remember right from my time shopping for a .17 the Ruger was more expensive than a CZ 455, and the fit and finish wasn't as nice so I went with the CZ.
However, the cartridge is so good I've never met anyone unhappy with their .17 HMR rifle, I'd expect the trend to continue with the Ruger.
Edit: my memory was wrong, I was thinking of the "77" I'd say go for it on the American.Last edited by ChuckDizzle; 06-19-2017, 11:14 AM. -
They seem to be pretty decent. Savage has a new bolt action out that uses the rotary mag like the A17. It's called the B17. I have yet to see one yet but it seems pretty sweet and they fixed a few issues from the 93. Just another one to think aboutComment

Over on rimfire forums there seemed to be a lot of people who had problems with huge groups. Ruger fixes them all but it wasn't something I wanted to possibly have to deal with so I went savage. It is a tack driver but has the normal savage crappy feel.Comment

I have one my A17 HMR is a great shooting weapon especially with the 25 round magazines up here in NV. Mine has the target thumb hole with the fluted barrel and my local gun shop gave me a great in Carson City, NV.
I put on a Vortex Diamond Back Tactical on it which I got from Vortex with my Military discount.
Have you put the A17 Target Thumb Hole in your hands? It is not for lefties. They don't last that long up here in Carson City, it is one rifle that is in high demand.Last edited by hmhoshino; 06-21-2017, 8:38 AM.Comment
