    DPMS 22lr Upper Chamber Damage

I broke the firing pin on my DPMS 22lr upper and it wound up dinging the chamber pretty good.

I am trying to find the Tom Menck chamber tool, but have found it's discontinued.

Is there anyone in the San Jose Bay area that has one of these?

I'm hesitant to take a tapered punch try to tap it back into place.

Any suggestions on where to find this chamber ironing tool?

    Have you checked Brownells??

Nobody has it in stock, not even Brownells. I could try calling them on Monday but I have a feeling their online inventory is reasonably accurate.

Took it to a gunsmith and he was able to fix the chamber.

Now that I have the upper back, the Tom menck chamber tool is back in stock at Midway.

Here is the chamber after getting it back from the gunsmith.

I've only put about 100 rounds through it since getting it back.

I'll update when I've had a chance to run more rounds through it.

Do you dry fire your DPMS 22lr upper? If so, you don't have any damage near the chamber do you?

I think mine only got damaged because my firing pin broke and was able to protrude further than the bolt.

I had the same problem on one of my 22s, a round file and some fine sand paper wrapped around a wooden rod made the chamber great again.
