    CMMG 22 AR conversion - won't operate w/charging handle.

I've tried this in both my Cerro upper and my ArmaLite upper, without the charging handle everything moves freely.

With the charging handle inserted the bolts on the conversion kits seizes up and won't move. It's a bear to remove at that point too.

Have 5.56 chamber (same problem with stripped upper anyway.)

Not using any weird/special charging handle. Just the cheapie that came with the rifle.

    Any thoughts?

Maybe I figured it out. Is it the profile of the charging handle that's an issue? I notice mine is more swept rather than circular like others.

What is it catching on? I just ran mine through five rifles and a pistol and it's all good.

I'm not 100% sure. It's the last quarter inch going in with the handle. I think it's actually being jammed into hte upper by the charging handle.

unfortunately it's my only charging handle. LGS want $50+ for fancy handles, no one carries just a basic handle.

...found the CMMG handle at walmart dotcom of all places. Guess I'll see wednesday if i'm GTG.

i thought CMMG made a specific charging handle for conversion kit. I believe i have one on mine.
