I recently purchased a 10-22 Ruger Carbine. I have noticed that Ruger says a big NO to using CCI Stinger 22 LR in its Tactical and Target versions of the 10-22. They make no mention of the Carbine. The rounds load correctly in the rotary magazine...any experience in this?

I saw that also about Target 10-22's. I guess contacting Ruger regarding the Stinger question would be the way to go on this..thanks for the feedbackComment

In order to achieve the high velocities with Stinger CCI fudged on the case dimensions. The case is actually longer than standard .22LR to accommodate more powder and the bullet is smaller at 32 grains.

My 10/22 Targer say right on the barrel not to use Stingers.
My KSA barrel also says the same thing.NRA Life Member

Um, if you're trying to shoot a squirrel with .22 there is absolutely a benefit to stingers or the equivalent. Won't hurt the gun.
Edit: applies to 10/22 rifles, not necessarily pistols of zinc compositionLast edited by Maht_g; 04-18-2017, 8:40 PM.sigpic"That's more suspicious than a nun doing squats in a cucumber field!"Comment

Maybe, I'm remembering this wrong but I thought there was a semi auto pistol that suggested using CCI Stinger ammo to help with function ...
But maybe I'm confusing it with the Phoenix HP 22 pistol that recommends ONLY standard velocity .22 ammunition and high or hypervelocity .22 L.R. ammunition has been reported to crack their frames occasionally (but they might've been fixed that issue by now).Comment
