For those who have a beat up GSG 1911-22 with the crummy factory paint finish and the metal showing underneath the wear, here's what you can do. I had concerns whether cerakote could be applied to the slide of the GSG but it turned out good.
I sent mine to Orange County Defense (ocdguns.com) in Irvine for their calguns special and it was fast turn around (2 days or so). The best part is that the slide is clean now, none of that ugly ATI writing all over it.
This is the Tungsten cerakote and in terms of feel/texture, it is sort of like a stonewash finish, at least when applied to the GSG potmetal slide.
